Choosing a data center
The difference between the mainland China and global data centers of ivyNote Cloud.
ivyNote Cloud runs in two regions, independently of each other:
| Data center | Address | For |
|---|---|---|
| Mainland China | https://web.ivynote.net |
Use inside mainland China |
| Global | https://web.ivynote.app |
Everywhere else |
Which one?
- Pick the region where you mostly use ivyNote: it is fastest and syncs most reliably.
- This site suggests one from your browser language (Simplified Chinese → mainland China, anything else → global). Change it in the menu; the site remembers your choice.
Good to know
- Accounts and data in the two regions are separate: an account created in one cannot sign in to the other.
- Keep using the region you signed up in. In the desktop app, connect to the matching address.
- To move regions: export all notes in the old region, sign up in the new one and import. See Import and export.
Where data is stored
- Mainland China region: data is stored inside mainland China.
- Global region: data is stored outside mainland China.
Both use the same encrypted storage; see Security.
