Publishing to WordPress

Publish a notebook to a WordPress blog automatically, with images, links and updates handled.

Content push publishes the notes of a notebook (and its sub-notebooks) as WordPress posts and keeps them updated.

This is an optional feature. If Content push is missing from Settings, the server administrator has not enabled it.

Prepare WordPress

  1. In WordPress, go to Users → Profile → Application Passwords and create one.
  2. Make sure the REST API is reachable (it is by default). Sites without pretty permalinks work too; ivyNote detects the ?rest_route= style.

Add the site

In Settings → Content push, add the site address, user name and application password. ivyNote checks the REST API and the credentials before saving. The password is stored encrypted with your personal key.

Add a target

For each site, add a target:

  • The notebook to publish (sub-notebooks included)
  • The post categories and tags
  • Whether to push automatically on a schedule

What happens on a push

  • New notes become new posts; changed notes update their post (even after a rename).
  • Images and attachments go to the WordPress media library, once per site.
  • Links to notes that are published become links to their posts.
  • Unchanged notes are skipped.

Push by hand at any time, or let the schedule do it.
